2015: EXPO IN MILAN

Milan won in the end: it has been chosen as the site of Expo 2015.

When?
The fair is going to last 6 months: from May to October 2015.

The theme?
"Feeding tha Planet, Energy for life".

What?
The EXPO, beside the exhibition itself, includes a lot of cultural, sports, musical and literary events around town. The city of Milan is building new infrastructure for the event: new residential and park districts like City Life and Porta Nuova, plus complexes dedicated to specific areas such as Fashion City, Jewellery Center, the European Library of Information and Culture, Cinema Town and a hi-tech pole.

Where?
EXPO 2015 will be held at the FieraMilano Rho complex in the northwest part of town. The EXPO pavillions will surround a lake in a large green park area adjacent to the permanent fair buildings. Visitors will enjoy a number of new hotels, two new subway lines and a a high-speed train with a stop right at the EXPO site. 8 new cycling routes will be built, one of course leading from downtown to the fair.
